Montana Introduces New System for Issuing Vehicle Titles and Registrations

Montana Motor Vehicle Division and county treasurer’s offices in Montana are set to launch a new vehicle services system on March 17. This system overhaul is part of the ongoing Credentialing and Registration System (CARS) project aimed at improving customer service and efficiency. The new system will offer more online services, electronic payment options, and improved processing times for vehicle transactions.

To prepare for the launch, MVD exam stations will be closed, and county treasurer offices will not be processing transactions from March 13-16. The new system is expected to streamline operations for law enforcement, dealerships, insurance companies, and improve services for citizens.

The CARS platform was developed in partnership with FAST Enterprises and has been implemented in other states successfully. Customers can stay updated on office hours and appointments on their county treasurer’s website. The new system aims to enhance customer service and efficiency for all vehicle-related services in Montana.
