Skyview’s Chris Grossman hopes to leave behind memories of finishing in second place

Billings Skyview sophomore Chris Grossman is determined to seize a Class AA state wrestling title at the upcoming competition in two weeks, aiming to avenge his runner-up finish from last year. His loss to Zach Morse motivated him to work harder during the offseason, participating in various competitions across the country to improve his skills.

Coach Jon Verlanic commended Grossman for his growth, not only as an athlete but also as a team player, supporting and mentoring his teammates. Grossman’s dedication to the sport is evident in his commitment to training and in the competitive spirit he shares with his brothers, including a senior on the team and an eighth-grader in Hardin.

Despite facing tough opponents and sometimes even his own brothers in practice, Grossman remains focused on his goal of winning a state championship. His perseverance and passion for wrestling have fueled his ambition to succeed, and he is determined to showcase his progress and talent on the mat. With his newfound maturity and unwavering determination, Grossman is poised to make a strong showing at the state competition and hopefully clinch the coveted gold medal.
