The Hornets went on a 13-0 run in the third quarter that gave them a lead they held onto until the final moments. A pair of free throws by MSU’s Taylor Janssen tied the game at 69-69, but a late offensive rebound and put back by Sacramento State’s Benthe Versteeg secured the victory for the Hornets. Morales led all scorers with 23 points, while Natalie Picton recorded 12 points off the bench for Montana State.
