Flagstaff, Ariz. – In a nail-biting game that saw 11 lead changes, NAU Basketball fell short to the Montana Griz with a final score of 83-80. The game was a back-and-forth battle from the start, with Diego Campisano leading the Jacks in three-pointers early on. Despite the efforts of players like Malik Moore, Jayden Jackson, and Monty Bowser, NAU struggled to contain Montana’s three-point shooting in the first half. Montana took a nine-point lead into halftime.
In the second half, NAU made a comeback with Trent McLaughlin, Jackson, Carson Towt, and Bowser all scoring in double digits. Towt recorded his 17th double-double of the season, leading the Jacks with 13 rebounds and eight assists. Despite their effort, NAU could not overcome Montana’s strong shooting performance.
The Lumberjacks will head on the road next week to face the Portland State Vikings and Sacramento State. Fans can stay updated on NAU Basketball by following the team on social media.
