Make-A-Wish has awarded five new recipients with the Chris Greicius Celebrity Award for their outstanding contributions in furthering the organization’s mission to grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
The winners include FOX Entertainment, iHeartMedia, Los Angeles Dodgers, Ms. Rachel, and VidCon. These recipients have made significant impacts by granting wishes, providing VIP experiences, and raising awareness and funds for Make-A-Wish. FOX Entertainment has granted nearly 100 wishes through popular shows, while iHeartMedia has welcomed wish kids at live music events and donated over $2.5 million worth of media support. The Los Angeles Dodgers have granted hundreds of wishes and partnered with ESPN for special wish experiences. Ms. Rachel, a children’s singer and educator, has granted six wishes, and VidCon has granted more than 30 wishes to attend their convention.
The Chris Greicius Celebrity Award recognizes the efforts of celebrities, entertainers, athletes, influencers, and industry partners who have made a difference in helping children with critical illnesses. Leslie Motter, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America, expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from these honorees who have helped grant wishes for children facing serious health challenges. The award, named after the boy whose wish inspired the creation of Make-A-Wish, highlights the impact of celebrities in fulfilling the wishes of over 375,000 children in the U.S. and its territories over the past 45 years.
