Baker Hughes awarded contract for gas technology in Jafurah Gas Field’s third expansion phase


Baker Hughes has received an order from Tecnicas Reunidas to provide gas compression trains and propane compressors for the third expansion phase of Aramco’s Jafurah gas field in Saudi Arabia. The order, awarded in the fourth quarter of 2024, will leverage Baker Hughes’ advanced electric motor driven compression technology from its Damman Center in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Ganesh Ramaswamy, executive vice president of Industrial & Energy Technology at Baker Hughes, emphasized the importance of gas as a reliable and lower-carbon energy source, highlighting that the company’s technology will support efficient and reliable production from the Jafurah field. This order further strengthens Baker Hughes’ partnership with Aramco, expanding on previous supply agreements for various gas compression facilities in the region.
