Montana’s superintendent applauds Department of Education’s decision to overturn Title IX

Montana Superintendent of Public Instruction, Susie Hedalen, has expressed her support for the U.S. Department of Education’s decision to rescind Title IX regulations put in place under the Biden administration. Title IX was originally designed to ensure fairness and equal opportunities for women in educational settings. Superintendent Hedalen believes that the decision to return to enforcing the 2020 Title IX Rules will help maintain these protections for female students in Montana.

Hedalen has been advocating for House Bill 300, which aims to strengthen the principles of fairness and privacy in education by preventing young women in Montana from competing against biological males in sports and protecting their access to programs and facilities. The Superintendent’s office emphasized the state’s commitment to upholding the integrity of women’s sports and ensuring fairness, safety, and equal opportunities in education and athletics.

For further information on these efforts and initiatives, interested parties are encouraged to contact the Montana Office of Public Instruction.
