Police say Florida educators were arrested after out-of-control teenage party at principal’s home involving alcohol

Two Florida educators, Roosevelt Elementary School Principal Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan and teacher Karly Anderson, are facing child abuse charges after hosting a drunken teenage house party that featured underage drinking and other questionable behavior. The party, held at Hill-Brodigan’s home, saw more than 100 attendees, including juveniles. The educators allegedly failed to provide proper care to the young attendees, leading to charges of child neglect and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Both Hill-Brodigan and Anderson have pleaded not guilty and are awaiting jury trials. Brevard Public Schools have placed them on administrative leave and are cooperating with the authorities. The allegations have been described as a failure in leadership and a violation of trust by the school district superintendent.

The party reportedly included a teenage boy brandishing a handgun, fights, drug use, underage drinking, and other illegal activities. The presence of marijuana and excessive alcohol consumption led to paramedics being called for a partygoer who was severely intoxicated. Some details of the party were revealed through affidavits filed by investigators, including the theme of ‘white lie’ and the educators allegedly allowing such parties to happen regularly at the home.

The involvement of the educators in hosting such events is puzzling, as one of them claimed her own children were not present at the party. Police were called to the home multiple times due to disturbance complaints from neighbors. The party came to an end after a false report of shots fired and a satanic ritual nearby, allowing attendees to disperse before police could return.
