Taylor Swift Checkmates with Exclusive Behind-the-Scenes Insights from Her ‘Eras’ Tour

Taylor Swift fans who attended her “Eras Tour” may have missed out on some Easter eggs hidden in plain sight throughout the concert run. The release of the “Eras Tour Book” on Black Friday revealed previously unknown details about the record-breaking tour, which has spanned five continents over 21 months. Exclusively available at Target stores, the 256-page hardcover book is priced at $39.99 and is set to be available online soon.

The book sheds light on behind-the-scenes details of the tour, including the fact that Taylor Swift’s performance of “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” involves her spinning on a platform operated by a crew member. In the performance of “Mastermind,” dancers move to create a sequence of a checkmate on a checkered stage. Another revelation is that Swift travels backstage in a janitor’s cart, which she described as comfortable and decorated.

The book also reveals that Swift played nearly four dozen songs in an average of three hours and 15 minutes during the tour, which included music from albums spanning her career. Fans who have attended the meticulously planned shows of the “Eras Tour” have had to strategize to navigate the merchandise lines. As the tour comes to an end, Swift promised fans more to come and signed off in the book with “See you next era.”
