The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade celebrated its 100th anniversary with its annual procession through central Manhattan on Thursday. The parade featured 17 helium-filled character balloons, including a Minion from the “Despicable Me” franchise, and 22 floats, one topped by the Statue of Liberty. Eleven marching bands and 700 clowns joined the procession, along with celebrity guests. Despite rain and chilly temperatures, spectators lined the 2.5-mile route, many clad in plastic ponchos and huddled under umbrellas. The parade was a colorful and festive event, with a giant Thanksgiving turkey float, a Spider-Man balloon, and Santa Claus riding on a sled piled high with presents. For a century, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has been a beloved tradition, bringing joy and entertainment to families across the country.
