Detroit Lakes Tribune: Renowned Montana artist’s metal sculptures enhance city’s landscape

Local nonprofit organization Project 412 has unveiled two new metal art sculptures in Detroit Lakes, crafted by renowned Montana artist Jim Dolan. One sculpture, titled “Togetherness,” features two horses standing next to each other, honoring the memory of the late Mark Knutson. The second sculpture, “Cans in Flight,” depicts canvas back ducks flying towards the horizon in memory of Dr. Tom Fritz, an avid outdoorsman. Both sculptures were funded through donations and are made from stainless steel to withstand the elements. Dolan, who has been a professional artist for 53 years, is known for his large-scale public art pieces featuring horses. The sculptures aim to celebrate the lasting impact of the individuals they honor and bring beauty to the Detroit Lakes landscape. The community is invited to view these stunning artworks, which are now prominently displayed overlooking the scenic beauty of the area. For more information, visit jimdolanart.com.
