Chicago Bears dismiss coach Matt Ebeflus following a disastrous Thanksgiving Day game

The Chicago Bears fired coach Matt Eberflus less than 24 hours after a loss against the Detroit Lions highlighted by mental lapses in the final 30 seconds. Eberflus was let go after a meeting with team executives, and General Manager Ryan Poles thanked him for his dedication. In the game, the Bears missed the opportunity to tie with a field goal due to a lack of organization, running out of time and leaving a timeout unused. Offensive coordinator Thomas Brown has been named interim head coach in Eberflus’ place.
