The Montana State volleyball team put up a strong fight against Northern Colorado in the Big Sky Conference tournament, but ultimately fell short in a five-set match. Despite winning the first two sets and showcasing impressive blocking skills, the Bobcats couldn’t maintain their lead, eventually losing 25-21, 25-22, 18-25, 21-25, 12-15. Junior outside hitter Madilyn Siebler led MSU with 10 kills, while Joelie Spelts and Jourdain Kamps contributed nine each. The Bobcats also excelled defensively, with Lauren Lindseth, Courtney Weatherby, Audrey Hofer, and Siebler all reaching double-digit digs. Kamps recorded a career-high 11 blocks, with Greenwald adding ten blocks. Northern Colorado’s Gabi Placide, a first-team All-Big Sky performer, led her team with 20 kills and 10 digs. Despite the loss, Montana State put up a valiant effort, coming close to achieving an upset as the underdog No. 8 seed against the top-seeded Northern Colorado. The Bobcats showed resilience and determination throughout the match, demonstrating their potential for future success in the tournament. While their season may have ended sooner than they hoped, the team’s performance in this intense match is a testament to their skills and determination on the court.
