Montana State University recently announced the six team captains for the upcoming college football season. Quarterback Tommy Mellott, defensive end Brody Grebe, and linebacker Danny Uluilakepa are returning captains, while defensive back Rylan Ortt and offensive linemen Marcus Wehr and Justus Perkins were also named as captains for the first time.
Mellott, a native of Butte, Montana, has been named a team captain for the third consecutive year, joining an elite club of players in Montana State history. His dedication, hard work, and leadership have earned him the trust and respect of his teammates. Mellott’s success on the field includes impressive accomplishments such as leading his team to the FCS championship game in 2021.
Grebe, from Melstone, Montana, and Uluilakepa, from Puyallup, Washington, bring a mix of hometown pride and a strong work ethic to the team. Both players have demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities during their time at Montana State.
Ortt, a native of Missoula, and Perkins, a walk-on from Bozeman, also exemplify the qualities of dedication and hard work that are necessary to become a team captain. Wehr, initially recruited to play defense, has excelled as an offensive lineman and has received numerous accolades for his performance on the field.
Together, these six captains represent a diverse group of players who have showcased their leadership abilities both on and off the field.
