Jurors in New Mexico have awarded a man over $412 million in a medical malpractice case involving a men’s health clinic operating in multiple states. The man’s attorneys hailed the verdict as the largest amount ever awarded by a jury in a medical malpractice case in the U.S. They alleged fraud and dangerous penile injections at the clinic, leading to irreversible damage for the 66-year-old plaintiff. The lawsuit claimed that the clinic misdiagnosed him and subjected him to unnecessary treatment, part of a larger scheme to defraud older men for financial gain. The clinic’s president, Brad Palubicki, emphasized the company’s commitment to patient care and compliance standards but did not provide further details about the case due to ongoing legal proceedings. The jury found that the defendants’ conduct was negligent and fraudulent, resulting in damages to the plaintiff, and violated the Unfair Practices Act. The plaintiff’s attorneys hope that the verdict will prevent other men from being victimized by similar schemes and are calling attention to the breach of trust by licensed professionals. The clinic, NuMale Medical Center, operates in several states beyond New Mexico, including Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Nevada, Nebraska, North Carolina, and Wisconsin.
