The Montana State women’s basketball team secured their first road win of the season with a 62-56 victory over East Carolina. Esmeralda Morales led the team with 15 points, while Katelynn Martin, Marah Dykstra, and Dylan Philip also scored in double figures. The Bobcats started strong with a 9-0 run but fell behind before regaining the lead with a 14-2 run in the second quarter. Their defense picked up the pace, causing turnovers and converting them into points. Despite building a 10-point lead in the third quarter, ECU closed the gap, but Morales sealed the win with a late three-pointer. The team finished shooting 49% from the floor and had 17 steals, with strong performances from Natalie Picton and Ella Johnson. Coach Tricia Binford praised the team’s defensive effort and balanced offense but highlighted the need to improve end-of-game management and rebounding. The Bobcats will face Central Florida next in the UNLV Thanksgiving Classic.
