Frontier Conference Announces Cross Country Athlete of the Week Honors


Carroll College’s Zach Gacnik and Montana Tech’s Alyssa Plant were recognized as the Frontier Conference runners of the week. Gacnik, a junior from Conifer, Colorado, finished fourth in the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge with a time of 24:23.9, while Plant, a sophomore from Helena, ran her fastest 5K time to date, finishing 20th overall with a time of 18:21.7. Gacnik was the top Frontier runner in a field of 202 participants, while Plant was the highest Frontier Conference finisher out of 180 runners in the race. Both athletes are gearing up for the upcoming Frontier Conference Championships on November 6 in Billings, with the NAIA national meet scheduled for November 22 in Columbia, Missouri. This recognition highlights their hard work and dedication to their sport, showcasing their impressive performances in their respective races. Keep an eye out for Gacnik and Plant as they continue to represent their schools and the Frontier Conference in future competitions.
