A woman in Florida helped authorities find her location while being held by an alleged attacker by calling 911 and pretending to order a pizza. Luis Diego Hernandez-Moncayo, 27, was arrested and charged with attempted sexual battery, battery by strangulation, and false imprisonment following the incident in Volusia County. During the call, the woman pretended to order a pizza while providing clues about her location. Deputies were able to track her to a field in Pierson, where they found Hernandez-Moncayo on top of the woman. Body camera footage showed the woman crying for help and thanking God when deputies arrived.
The woman explained that they had gone to the field to drink, but Hernandez-Moncayo became violent and wouldn’t let her leave after allegedly taking drugs. Sheriff Chitwood praised the victim’s quick thinking in calling for help and the deputies’ response to the situation. Hernandez-Moncayo, who is undocumented, is facing an immigration detainer issued by the U.S. Border Patrol. The woman’s bravery and resourcefulness in a dangerous situation helped authorities rescue her from a potentially life-threatening situation.
