A recent survey of 2,000 U.S. adults conducted by Talker Research on behalf of KaTom has revealed that Gordon Ramsey is America’s favorite celebrity chef, followed by Rachel Ray, Bobby Flay, Martha Stewart, and Emeril Lagasse. Americans on average would spend almost $340 on a three-course meal cooked by their preferred celebrity chef, with 17% willing to spend more than $500. The survey also discovered that Americans engage with food-related content four days a week, with a significant portion watching TV shows, browsing cooking websites, and consuming social media or amateur food influencer content.
Furthermore, the survey found that consuming food-related content inspires Americans to be more creative in the kitchen, try new techniques, feel more informed about cooking, and stay up-to-date on the latest products to use. About half of respondents have purchased kitchen products and chef tools endorsed by their favorite celebrities, with cookware being the most popular item. Additionally, 40% of Americans who have not purchased such products are likely to do so in the future.
The survey also revealed that Americans enjoy cooking at home, with main dish proteins like chicken and steak being their favorite foods. They also prefer American, Mexican, and Italian cuisines and find them easy to cook at home. Overall, the survey highlights the influence of celebrity chefs on Americans’ cooking skills, habits, and preferences in the kitchen.
