The Chicago White Sox set a new MLB record for most losses in a season with their 121st loss against the Detroit Tigers. The team has been on a decline since winning the AL Central division in 2021, with only 39 wins so far this season. Offense has been a major issue for the White Sox, ranking near the bottom in many statistical categories. First baseman Andrew Vaughn has the highest batting average on the team at .248. The team started the season with a franchise-worst 3-22 record and went on to lose 21 consecutive games, the first team since 1988 to do so. Despite winning nine games in both May and June, the White Sox only managed seven wins combined in July and August.
