Sean “Diddy” Combs was charged with sex trafficking and racketeering, following a federal indictment unsealed on Tuesday. The arrest came after a sex trafficking investigation led federal authorities to raid Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and Miami. Combs has faced multiple lawsuits accusing him of physical and sexual abuse, which he has denied.
His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, stated that Combs will plead not guilty and fight to be released from custody. Despite the legal troubles, Combs remains confident and in good spirits. Combs, a prominent figure in hip-hop, has faced a deluge of allegations over the past year that have tarnished his reputation.
In 2023, his ex-girlfriend Cassie filed a lawsuit alleging abuse and rape by Combs, which was later settled. However, security footage aired on CNN showed Combs physically assaulting Cassie, for which he apologized. Combs has denied similar allegations made by others in various lawsuits, including rape accusations and coercing individuals into unwanted sexual encounters.
Combs, the founder of Bad Boy Records, has a history of legal troubles but has managed to avoid serious consequences in the past. Notably, he was acquitted of charges related to a nightclub shooting in 2001. Despite the tumultuous legal battles, Combs maintains his innocence and is prepared to defend himself against the accusations. Various individuals, including Cassie’s lawyer, have refrained from commenting on the matter as of now.
