Video captures suspect in apparent attempt to assassinate Trump being apprehended

A man suspected of attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump was arrested without incident in Florida after law enforcement confronted him following gunfire near Trump’s golf course. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office released body camera footage showing deputies directing Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, to surrender peacefully. Routh has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. He was apprehended on Interstate 95 thanks to a witness who provided crucial information to law enforcement. Sheriff William Snyder expressed concern about how Routh was able to get so close to a former president and raised questions about whether he acted alone or as part of a conspiracy. The FBI and Secret Service are investigating to determine the extent of Routh’s involvement.
