The Montana 4-H Foundation has awarded nearly $40,000 in scholarships to 45 graduating 4-H members and alumni from various counties and tribal areas in Montana. Recipients can use the scholarships for post-secondary education during the 2024-2025 academic year. The scholarship recipients were recognized at the 2024 Montana 4-H Congress held at Montana State University in Bozeman on July 11.
Jane Wolery, the executive director of the Montana 4-H Foundation, expressed excitement about seeing the scholarship recipients achieve their goals through higher education. Scholarships were awarded based on county, with amounts ranging from $500 to $3,000. The scholarships were funded by various donors and organizations, such as Montana Wheat and Barley Scholarship, Murdoch’s Ranch & Home Supply Scholarship, and Bud Dawson Livestock Scholarship, among others.
Montana 4-H, a part of MSU Extension, provides education to youth aged 5 to 18, reaching over 17,000 youth with the help of 3,000 volunteers. The foundation offers scholarships that can be based on an annual gift or established as endowments. For more information about the program or how to donate to support youth and communities in Montana, individuals can contact Jane Wolery at 406-994-5911 or Jane.Wolery@montana.edu.
